12C "Georges III" 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley (94 Points Parker)

12C "Georges III"  2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley (94 Points Parker)

Winemaker notes: "The 2014 vintage produced wines that  winemakers, vineyard growers and critics alike couldn't agree more that dry drought years can turn out some head turning quality. The 2014 12C Cabernet Sauvignon enjoyed a mild spring, followed by a steady ripening season due to our perfect Rutherford soil & water table profile. Fabulous summer days and mild nights provided the perfect opportunity to create a deep, dark and compelling wine.  Deep dark ruby purple in the glass, there is an amazing sense of clarity, notes crème de cassis, macerated cherries, dark chocolate and barrel spice combine with a dusty soil component that intermingle with a rich texture and full bodied mouth feel that stays light on its feet. Year and year out the Georges III vineyard is consistent for making a prodigious, full-flavored and lively wine that has a sense of place and purpose. The mid palate and finish is loaded with opulent & perfectly ripened fruit that sails of into a powerful yet refined finish that is buttressed by perfectly ripened tannins that frame a 30-second finish. Drink this Cabernet with a 3-4 hour decant in the first few years, or age it 6-8 years to bring out any hidden complexities."

Robert Parker: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a substantial wine, and bigger than many Cabernets in this vintage while more structure as well. Dense purple. it shows background high-quality oak, loads of blackberry, cassis and a prolonged full-bodied mouthfeel. This is a relatively substantial 2014 that’s by no means front-end loaded like so many. Drink it over the next 15 or so years. "
