It is fun to keep finding these little gems in the rough. The MC4 (Martin & Croshaw) vineyard is
located in St. Helena between some of the most sought after properties! The vineyard is located on a gently sloping
hillside on the west side of the valley.
Only 2000 vines adorn this great vineyard, which is organically farmed
by shovel and sweat. Add their 100 Point winemaker
extraordinaire and you have a winning
solution. At $64.99 this wine is very
well-priced among many $100+ wines from their neighbors!
The 2012 weather was nearly perfect for Cabernet, and this year’s release
is MC4’ best wine yet! It has a gorgeous purple hue and exquisite aromas of
black currant, chocolate, licorice and a touch of mint. Full in body, this wine (after a nice 2 hour
decant) shows it potential immediately.
Lush fruit, crème de cassis, a touch of licorice, chocolate and bold
black stone fruit coat the palate of this 98 case production. The flavors keep on coming and lead into a
long, yet silky tannin finish lasting a good 30 seconds. Only 8 cases of this wine were allocated
to me, so hurry to get of this!
