Carte Blanche 2013 Proprietary Red, Napa Valley - 94 Points

Carte Blanche 2013 Proprietary Red, Napa Valley - 94 Points

Winery Notes: "The 2013 Carte Blanche Proprietary Red Wine is a Right-Bank inspired blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, 10.5% Petite Verdot and .5% Malbec. Select vineyards and blocks were chosen and farmed specifically to attain a dense, rich wine framed by delicate fine-grained tannins. Beckstoffer’s Orchard Vineyard Merlot offers a plump & full mid-palate while providing ample nuance. Beckstoffer’s Missouri Hopper Cabernet Sauvignon in Oakville provides a full spectrum of rich and dark fruit, while Kuleto Cabernet Franc from Pritchard Hill offers nuances of tobacco, plum, and roasted poblano Savory and bursting with sweet red and black fruit, the 2013 Proprietary Red is loaded with personality. Black cherry, licorice, and faint green peppercorn on the nose. The palate is tight and focused, showcasing violet, lavender, pablano pepper, atop blue and black fruits with hints of cherry. 200 cases produced."

Anthony Galloni 94 Points: "Another racy, expressive wine from Carte Blanche, the 2013 Proprietary Red Wine is beautifully perfumed throughout. Dark red cherry, pomegranate, mint, spice and sweet floral notes are woven together in a sensual, supple wine that will drink well pretty much upon release. The blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc works quite well here."
